The timeless BL6 wall light was designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer strongly influenced by the Bauhaus school. The design of the Bestlite lamp was first adopted by Royal Air Force garages and technical services because of its great functionality. Public demand for Bestlite lamps soon followed and, when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his office, the iconic status of Bestlite was achieved. This contemporary classic is now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. In continuous production since its inception, the Bestlite BL6 wall lamp remains true to its industrial roots and original design.
