Alvar Aalto is one of the most significant figures in 20th-century design and architecture. He created his own style inspired by man and nature. Aalto believed that good design should be a part of everyday life and created versatile, sensitive products to improve daily life. He never indicated how his glass objects were to be used, wanting users to decide their purpose for themselves. The undulating, flowing, organic shapes of the objects in this collection evoke the thousands of lakes that punctuate Finnish landscapes. Iittala’s glassblowers continue to make these legendary, stunningly beautiful vases by hand today. Aalto vase is available in various sizes and colours.
