Heir to the Provençal headdresses that once distinguished regional costumes, the table lamp Couqueto, designed by Margaux Keller, transposes this emblematic element of heritage into a contemporary light creation. Its lampshade takes up the characteristic volumes of the Couqueto, a headdress worn in Marseille by the middle class and wealthy craftswomen. This cultural reference translates into an immediately recognizable silhouette, where traditional forms are reinvented in a modern graphic language. The light comes to highlight the curves of the lampshade and reveal all the richness of its construction. Made in a lampshade factory in the south of France, the Couqueto lamp is the result of work combining artisanal know-how and contemporary manufacturing techniques. The classic forms were deconstructed and then redesigned to give rise to a piece where memory, design and craftsmanship interact with the finesse of Margaux Keller. Each piece is unique and signed with a brass punch, reflecting the care taken in its manufacture.
