Designed in 1958 by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen, the PH 5 suspension takes its name from the 50cm diameter of the luminaire’s main shade. At the time of its creation, no one suspected that PH 5 would come to embody Poul Henningsen’s characteristic lighting. The suspension stands out for its 100% glare-free lighting, regardless of the light source used or how the lamp is installed. The PH5 suspension lamp Louis Poulsen emits light directed downwards and to the sides and therefore lights itself. Timeless, PH 5 continues to brighten up even the most modern interiors with its colour palette.
