The suspension 1965 edited by Gubi was originally designed by Paavo Tynell in 1947. Like many of his best-known creations, this pendant light was designed for the House of Finland in New York — one of the most ambitious and successful projects to showcase Finnish design. Perfecting metal finishing techniques, Tynell developed the 1965 suspension with its exceptional ability to capture and translate an exuberant grace and lightness in its brass creations. Characterised by its triangular perforation pattern, an artistic detail used by Tynell in several of his lighting objects, the 1965 suspension reflects the distinguished craftsmanship of the Finnish designer. With a frosted glass diffuser that softens the light, the suspension 1965 contributes to a subtle, elegant environment.
