Description
A tribute to Pierre Jeanneret, the Kangaroo armchairwas created for the reception room of the general hospital in the city of Chandigarh. It is distinguished by essential shapes and simple materials, a balance between modern European ideals and a traditional Indian spirit. The low seat of the 058 Kangaroo armchairfrom Cassina is characterised by the « Z » shape of its sides. The latter are composed of a sequence of three coplanar, vaguely triangular, elements placed in continuity. The seat and backrest showcases traditional caning within a solid wood frame. The edition from Cassina’s Research and Development Centre proposes for the Kangaroo armchair, in addition to the historic teak version, two variants in natural oak and black-stained oak, made by the company’s historic joinery. An optional cushion is available to provide better protection and comfort.
