Designed by Robin Day, RFH is a collection conceived in 1951 to furnish the Royal Festival Hall in London. And Tradition has worked closely with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to reissue iconic models for the first time in decades. The RFH RD4 chair was originally designed to complement the seating in the restaurant and foyer of the Royal Festival Hall. This chair was never produced on a large scale, and as a result, one copy after another has disappeared over the years. And Tradition is now reissuing this chair after finding the only remaining example in the Royal Festival Hall archives, where it had remained packed and intact for decades.Made from teak, the RFH RD4 chair is durable and has small proportions, making it suitable for small-town balconies and high-traffic areas. The wooden slats of the seat give the chair ergonomic qualities while creating a distinctive organic aesthetic. Robust in its construction, the RFH RD4 chair manages to maintain a lightweight feel. For an extra layer of comfort, a custom-made cushion is also available.
