The Eames Lounge Chair is one of Charles and Ray Eames’ most famous designs. Designed in 1956, it is a classic in the history of contemporary furniture, firmly logged in our collective imagination. The Lounge Chair released today by Vitra combines absolute comfort with the highest level of quality in both materials and manufacture. Absolute comfort was one of Charles and Ray‘s main objectives when developing the Lounge Chair. In search of a soft, pleasant feel, they experimented with different leather and fabric coverings. After the launch in 1956, a fabric-covered version was available, but only for a short time and in small numbers. In 2023, Vitra relaunched the Eames Lounge Chair with fabric upholstery. Nubia is a soft curly textile with a lively look, giving the iconic piece of furniture a warm, welcoming feel. The covers are removable.
