Designed by Ray and Charles Eames, the Aluminium Group armchair is one of the major creations of 20th-century design. Its main distinguishing feature is its clever assembly of materials to achieve optimum comfort: the cladding is fixed and stretched over lateral aluminium sections, thus becoming a load-bearing element of the structure. Vitra is now reissuing EA 101, 103 and 104, three versions of this design classic, which were part of the original product family and marketed as « Aluminium Dining Chairs« . They complete the Aluminium Group range with a selection of smaller, lighter chairs, ideal around a table.
