Vitra has created a collection of miniatures representing the great classics of the history of modern furniture. The structure, materials and colours are a faithful reproduction of the original piece down to the smallest detail, reduced to 1/6th scale. Each piece is hand-made, and the designer has agreed a licencing deal with producer Vitrafor the entire collection. The Miniatures collection is exclusive to the Vitra Design Museum. Verner Panton’s famous chair is sold in a set featuring 5 miniatures inspired by 60’s Pop Art. The designer broke away from the restrictions of traditional structures, instead opting to play with shapes and colours using plastic. Whatever models you own, these miniature pieces are perfect for displaying throughout the house like precious collector’s items, delivered in a wooden case.
