In numerous trials begun during the Second World War, designers Charles and Ray Eames attempted to develop new techniques for adapting moulded laminated wood in three dimensions to the silhouette of the human body. The Plywood Group seating collection is the result of this work: seats, backrests and bases are in moulded and laminated wood. The LCW (Lounge Chair Wood) produced by the Swiss company Vitra, is available in moulded laminated wood, and is also offered on SILVERA-eshop with cowhide upholstery, as it was presented in 1946 when it was first launched on the market.
