Designed by Poul Henningsen over 40 years ago, the PH Artichoke suspension is now considered a design classic. The structure is made with twelve steel arches. On this structure, Poul Henningsen placed 72 copper sheets, with six blades in each row. Since each level is staggered in relation to the previous one, the 72 leaves can cover each other. This design allows a good view of the lamp from any angle without directly seeing the light source located in the centre of the pendant. The PH Artichoke were originally developed for a Copenhagen restaurant called the Langelinie Pavilion, where they can still be admired today.
