More a silhouette than a solid block, the chaise Rope is a line drawing translated into three dimensions, a simple artistic gesture that comes to life in space. Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and published by Artek, the Rope chair is a synthesis of contrasts: sophisticated technical achievement and creative expression, a robust structure and flexible elements, rigid tubes and supple rope. Created for marine use, the rope is at the heart of the unexpected comfort of the Chaise Rope. The rope allows the chair to adapt to the person sitting on it. Where other chairs dictate a specific way of sitting, the Rope chair invites creativity in posture, encouraging dynamics and changes of position. When the seated person stands up, the chair retains the trace of the body, the imprint of the user who co-defines its shape.
